Help us define the State of the Digital Workplace: Take the 2019 survey!

March 6, 2019 Updated: July 11, 2025 by

The digital workplace continues to evolve at a rapid pace and it’s never been more important to understand where we are now, as well as where we are heading. The growth of interest in improving the employee experience, the continuing adoption of Office 365, plus the expectations of users mean that understanding the digital workplace is critical.

We need your help! Take our 10-minute survey on the trends, opportunities, challenges and success metrics that are impacting your digital workplace.

The survey is a combined initiative from Digital Workplace Group and CMSWire. The results – which will be published in the annual State of the Digital Workplace report – are just one of the elements being prepared for the Digital Workplace Experience conference in June (early-bird rates still available).

Get digital workplace insights!

Last year, nearly 500 organizations from all over the world took part.

Participate this year and see how your efforts stack up by taking the survey. The State of the Digital Workplace report will be ready for download around the time of the conference.

As an extra incentive to participate, for every fully completed survey, our partners CMSWire will contribute $3 to Room to Read, an international non-profit dedicated to supporting literacy and girls’ education.

Insights from last year

You can read all about insights from the 2018 State of the Digital Workplace survey, including:

  • The digital workplace is a priority, not a fad. Nearly three quarters of respondents to the survey identified the digital workplace as “important”, “very important” or “extremely important”.
  • We’re still at an early stage of maturity. Only 16% of respondents claimed their digital workplace was mature, with 46% regarding their digital workplace as in the early stages.
  • Big data and analytics are a high priority. This area was the second most important digital workplace priority, after culture and change.
  • Not enough teams are measuring the digital workplace effectively. The vast majority of teams were using three types of metrics or fewer, but those using more considered they had higher performing digital workplaces.
