Organizations recognized in Digital Workplace of the Year 2020 awards
In our Digital Workplace of the Year Awards 2020, the trophy was swept up by the highly impressive entry from DBS Bank. The judges also decided to call out some other organizations to acknowledge their commendable achievements in some specific areas of practice. In a challenging year for all, it was heartening to learn about the progress these organizations are making with their digital workplaces.
The Awards are produced by DWG and celebrate organizations and practitioners who have excelled this year in creating well-executed, high-performing digital workplace environments.
So, in no particular order, here are the judges’ additional awards from the 2020 Digital Workplace of the Year Awards:
City of Malmö receives an award for User Engagement
The clear focus on employees and citizens that drives the digital workplace at City of Malmö led several of the judges to comment that they want to move there! The team’s approach to user engagement was among the more impressive the panel has seen, with the work styles and needs of employees deeply woven into the programme. Approaches include an impact map to understand behaviours, broad participation in testing throughout implementation, and a voluntary adoption community called Digital Café.
IAG receives an award for Comprehensive Approach
Delivering a successful digital workplace means getting a lot of elements and practices right – a challenge for any organization. The judges noted that IAG scored well on the key elements to drive forward a successful digital workplace programme: strategy, business case/rationale and governance. For that reason, they wanted to acknowledge the comprehensiveness of the approach IAG is taking.
Grant Thornton receives an award for Findability
In this award, for the first time, the judges wished specifically to acknowledge good work done on search and findability, always a tricky area to get right. Grant Thornton impressed in this regard with its work to improve the search experience for employees. Personalized results and integration of multiple key sources were highlights, with impacts including a 100% increase in search efficiency for end users along with positive sentiment towards it.
Refinitiv receives an award for Business Impact
Putting together hard numbers to demonstrate the impact of the digital workplace can be tough and the judges wanted to acknowledge the really robust work done in this area by the team at Refinitiv. In a multi-phase digital workplace programme, the team has already reported cost reductions of $4,000 per user due to platform consolidation as well as a 21% improvement in productivity through frictionless adoption and reductions in time spent searching and case handling.
Amadeus IT Group receives an award for Rationale
The judges acknowledged the strong rationale and business case that is driving work forward on the digital workplace at Amadeus IT Group. They found this clear and compelling in its focus areas of knowledge, connection, talent and innovation. The focus on people, linkage to culture, and emphasis on flattening the hierarchy all caught the panel’s attention.
Fidelity Investments receives an award for Strategic Vision
The entry from Fidelity Investments really stood out for the clarity and ambition of its strategic vision for the digital workplace. With clear linkage to enterprise goals, its organization across five key capabilities (Collaborate, Connect, Coordinate, Communicate and Create) provides a clear picture of how associates work today, the next steps for moving their experience forward and the longer-term picture for revolutionizing work.
