DWG Awards entry checklist

June 9, 2026

Use this list to sense-check your submission before you press submit.

1. Do we have a clear story?

☐ Have we articulated the challenge we were solving

☐ Is there a clear through-line from problem → action → outcome

☐ Have we moved beyond ‘what we did’ to why it mattered

👉 Test: Could someone unfamiliar with our work quickly understand the story?

2. Are we showing real impact (not just activity)?

☐ Have we explained what changed as a result of our work?

☐ Are our metrics tied to business or employee outcomes

☐ Have we answered the question: ‘So what?’

☐ Have we treated this as more than a purely technical delivery?

👉 Watch out: Lists of features or adoption stats without context.

3. Are we connecting to organizational priorities?

☐ Have we linked our initiative to strategic goals or business priorities

☐ Is it clear how this work supports wider organizational direction

☐ Have we highlighted cross-team working

☐ Does the entry show shared ownership and cultural impact

👉 Test: Would a senior stakeholder see why this matters?

4. Have we brought the story to life?

☐ Have we included specific examples or use cases

☐ Does the narrative feel human and tangible, not abstract?

☐ Have we balanced evidence with storytelling

👉 Tip: The strongest entries combine emotion, clarity and evidence

5. Have we involved the right people?

☐ Have we gathered input from across teams (IT, Comms, HR, etc.)

☐ Have leadership or key stakeholders reviewed and shaped the narrative

☐ Does the entry reflect a shared perspective, not a single voice?

👉 Outcome: Greater credibility and alignment.

6. Have we reflected on the journey?

☐ Have we shown progress over time, not just a final state?

☐ Have we acknowledged lessons learned or challenges overcome

☐ Does the entry demonstrate continuous improvement

👉 Tip: Judges value honesty and maturity – not just success.

7. Is the narrative clear and focused?

☐ Have we avoided unnecessary detail or technical overload?

☐ Is the structure easy to follow and logically ordered?

☐ Have we prioritized the most important messages

👉 Test: Could this be summarized in a few strong sentences?

8. Have we started early and refined?

☐ Did we iterate through multiple drafts

☐ Have we incorporated feedback to strengthen the story

☐ Have we taken time to step back and connect the dots

👉 Reality check: Strong entries are shaped over time – not written in one go.

In short, ask yourself:

‘Does this entry clearly tell a credible, evidence-backed story of meaningful transformation?’
