How to put ‘Digital Scotland’ on the map

March 28, 2018
Scottish Government's digital transformation

Scottish Government is blazing a digital trail. It’s improving its internal digital workplace and transforming the employee culture; digitizing its frontline services to allow everyone access, whether they live in a large city or on the remotest of islands; and boosting its economy by attracting leading tech companies.

Paul Miller talks to Ken Goodlad from Scottish Government, about how it is dispelling the myth that the public sector are digital laggards. From the mentoring scheme “Digital Friends” to setting up global firsts such as CivTech, Ken tells us how they have been able to make such a success of their digital programme – and influence a nation. They also cover future ambitions, advice for other governments and why being leaders in digital innovation doesn’t necessarily mean being digital experts.
