At DWG, we get excited about passionate people in our industry. So much so that, in 2017, we decided to create an industry award so that we could share our excitement and reward exceptional digital workplace leaders. In 2019, the Digital Workplace Leader of the Year was awarded to Marc Bramoullé for his leadership of radical changes to Ubisoft’s digital workplace environment. We also had a very close runner-up in the pioneering work of Linda Tinnert from IKEA.

The Awards are produced by DWG in partnership with SMG/CMSWire, and celebrate organizations and practitioners who have excelled in creating well-executed, high-performing digital workplace environments.

For the first time in 2019, we published a shortlist of nominees for Digital Workplace Leader of the Year. The names on the list are nothing short of inspirational, with leaders from organizations such as Adobe, Oxfam, IKEA, UNHCR and General Electric featured. (Want to know more about what we think makes a great digital workplace leader? Take a look at our post Seeking outstanding digital workplace leaders!).

DWG CEO Paul Miller commented about the leader awards in Chicago:

“Linda Tinnert has been a quiet, understated pioneer in the digital workplace space for a decade or more. Within an unusually ambitious organization, she has been always challenging, learning and deploying in this ever-evolving field. This honour for her is well deserved.”

A pioneer in the digital workplace industry, Linda led the early and innovative movement within IKEA to evolve from intranet to digital workplace. This involved extensive work to define and agree the digital workplace strategy and establish “digital workplace” as a “solution area” (a structure already established within IKEA, with standard approaches to governance, delivery models, coordination between different functions, etc).

Linda worked her way up through various intranet and digital roles at IKEA, spearheading its digital workplace from 2012 and becoming the Solution Area Lead for Digital Workplace in 2017. She put in place a robust programme that is delivering benefits year-on-year for both co-workers and the business.

Over the years, she has generously shared her knowledge and passion for her work at DWG member and other industry events, inspiring others to champion the digital workplace. As a pioneer in the industry, she has been way ahead of the curve for a decade or more.

You can find out more about Linda on LinkedIn (where, at the time of writing, the announcement of her award has received well over 100 reactions from the digital workplace community!).
