This is DWG, the organization formerly known as IBF
The Intranet Benchmarking Forum (IBF) is now the Digital Workplace Group (DWG). This change has been a long time coming and reflects our leadership in the field of intranets, the digital workplace and the future of meaningful work.

Big news: we are now three different letters
I always think it’s funny when companies rebrand and then go on and on about their new brand. “So your company went from being I-B-F to being D-W-G. So what? I’m busy and have a life.”
Understood.
That’s why we are going to strive to be useful and just keep putting out high quality material. Come here for our material and our high quality services not because we have a fancy schmancy new name.
Why change to Digital Workplace Group?
We had to ask ourselves that same question. For over a decade the IBF name stood for professionalism, objectivity and independence. For our members it offered an oasis of “data in a world of opinion”.
But the future is calling. Our member companies and clients are dealing with much more than just intranets, and the world of work is changing rapidly.
We’re an innovative, niche company. We have the agility to adapt with the times and a responsibility to define a safe path along the cutting edge. So here we are.
What is different between IBF and DWG?
Besides the name? Mainly just the fact that we now offer our expertise through consulting, not just benchmarking.
For years our members would come to us saying “your benchmarkers are intranet experts and you have a wealth of knowledge; can we hire you for a specific project?”
For a long time we responded “thank you, but no, we can’t compromise the integrity of our benchmarking.”
Finally, after years of saying “no” we started testing out consulting. We asked members how they felt and they saw no conflict. We set up walls between our member benchmarking service and our consulting.
The result is that we now offer our Consulting Services as a separate line of service, but rooted in the same values and research-driven approach as our Member Forum.
Is IBF really gone?
The name is gone. But the Member Forum and benchmarking services still remain and our new website has much of the same content, plus plenty of new and better material.
What happens to IBF Live?
IBF Live is now Digital Workplace Live.
The name change not only reflects our new company name, but the shift to covering a wider array of topics beyond intranets, such as collaboration platforms, enterprise social media, mobile intranets and apps, smart working/flexible working and more.
Do you still do intranet benchmarking?
Absolutely, yes!
Benchmarking is still the core of our company. We like to think of ourselves as the undisputed intranet benchmarking champions of the world. Our record of over 500 completed benchmarking evaluations for large organizations speaks for itself.
Now we also offer benchmarking of broader digital workplaces too.
What is the digital workplace? How is it connected to intranets?
Glad you asked. We’ve recently published a well-received series of articles on just that topic:
