Social intranet expert Nancy Goebel to keynote collaboration event in New York
11 February 2013, New York.
Intranet expert Nancy Goebel of the Digital Workplace Group (DWG) will deliver a keynote talk at “The Value of Social: Improving Collaboration & Engagement on Your Intranet” event, hosted by Interact Intranet on 20 February 2013 in New York.
Social intranets make up a research strand that IBF (part of the Digital Workplace Group) has been investigating in a recent series of blog posts and a research briefing paper to be released shortly.
Nancy Goebel, Managing Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at the Digital Workplace Group, was recently invited by IBM to host a global session on social intranets and says the Interact Intranet seminar will be “a great opportunity to discuss with industry practitioners real-life examples of social intranets in action and how companies are using them to engage employees and drive business results”.
Increasing use of tools like LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook has led Gartner to predict that social networking services will replace email by 2014. Meanwhile, McKinsey has reported that the revenue growth of social businesses is 24% higher than less “social firms”.
Nancy Goebel will cover her predictions for social intranets in 2103 and is joined by:
- Alan Brogdon, Chief Technology Officer for charity March of Dimes, demonstrating how the charity successfully uses collaborative tools on their intranet to increase user adoption.
- Jordan Zarin, Manager Information Resources, and Chris Strom, New Media and Social Networking Director, from JCC Association, who will show how the association engages their 5,000 members through innovative campaigns and uses different tools to drive people to their site on a regular basis.
- Nick Lethbridge, Enterprise Sales Director for Interact, to discuss how social intranets can benefit larger organizations and show how to go about successfully implementing collaborative tools that fit the needs of employees.
The “Value of Social” seminar, which is free to join, will take place on:
Wednesday, 20 February 2013 from 8:30 –12.00 Eastern time.
