The inclusive digital workplace (part 1 of 3)
DWG’s new research report The inclusive digital workplace: 1. Nurturing digital inclusivity is the first part of a new three-report series that looks at the important topic of supporting inclusivity across the digital workplace. The next two reports will be released in 2023.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) is an important agenda item for many organisations and has a range of benefits, but is not always reflected in the digital workplace. In fact a new survey included in this report, indicates there is still a lot of work to do.
The report covers what digital inclusion means and looks like, both directly but also in exploring how it feels to be excluded in the digital world of work. It lays out principles for designing inclusion into digital workplace services as well as the content and communications that populate them. It also delves into the practices that help managers and employees enter into and use digital spaces in inclusive ways, for instance, fostering psychological safety and healthy team environments.
Authored by Shimrit Janes, the full research report is available now for free download.

About DWG research
The Digital Workplace Group (DWG) carries out research into best practice in intranet and portal deployment. Covering the hottest topics in the intranet world, the studies we undertake are rooted in practical examples from among DWG member organizations as well as leading non-member companies. The results of this in-depth research act as a basis for decision-making, a source of ideas, and the basis for rich interactions between participants at DWG meetings. Generally, members are given exclusive access to our findings, although we do from time to time make a report available to non-members.
