Is your organization ready for the digital workplace?
DWG’s new research ‘Is your organization ready for the digital workplace?” looks at what organizations need to do to encourage the take-up of digital working practices among staff. For digital working to become a fully supported and embedded way of life for the people in any organization, a number of antecedents need to be in place. These ultimately comprise the concept of “organizational readiness”.
This briefing paper examines how organizations need to make concerted efforts to assess, and then seek to improve, practices within four key areas: leadership and management, organizational culture, user ability and motivation and process and policies.
The paper seeks first to define what “organizational readiness” actually is, before further exploring what it looks like in practical terms; how to assess your own organization’s readiness; and how to begin to close the gaps between where you are today and where you could be tomorrow. A number of examples from organizations such as The British Council and Office for National Statistics are also covered.
