Why you should enter the Digital Workplace of the Year Awards

April 3, 2019 Updated: November 2, 2022 by

In his 2019 predictions, DWG CEO Paul Miller set out a vision for the year ahead in which digital workplaces – with modern advanced intranets at their core – become more innovative, sustainable, smarter and mobile.

At DWG we’re excited (jumping up and down, no less) to see what YOU and YOUR ORGANIZATION will achieve in 2019 and beyond. We’ll be recognizing the very best work in the industry in our annual Digital Workplace of the Year Awards. Produced by DWG and Simpler Media Group, publisher of CMSWire, the awards celebrate those organizations and practitioners who have excelled at creating well-executed, high-performing digital workplace environments.

What you need to know is that the awards are open for entries!

So, please get your team together, order the coffee (and perhaps cake?) and invest a little time to tell us the story of your amazing digital workplace. We want to learn not only about its fantastic features but also the key moving parts: the strategy and vision, governance, business case, user involvement and metrics. For the winners it’s a chance to join a digital workplace hall of fame, bringing recognition and kudos within your organization, among peers and in the wider industry. That’s no small thing: recognition is well understood to make employees happier, more motivated and more likely to stick around. What better way to motivate your team?

The winners will join names such as Liberty Mutual, Cisco and BNY Mellon. Read their stories below to find out how they have pushed the envelope in terms of digital workplace practices.

Liberty Mutualset itself apart through its strategic approach, with a clear focus on simplifying employees’ lives.

Ciscoimpressed the judging panel across the board, receiving particularly high scores for its robust digital workplace governance and impactful demonstration of benefits.

BNY Mellon – could not be faulted for its ambitious, business-focused strategy or the accompanying robust governance framework, with its clear roles, groups and responsibilities. The awards provide the perfect opportunity for you and your organization to share your digital workplace achievements with peers and to gain global, industry recognition!

For 2019 there are two categories:

  • Digital Workplace of the Year 2019 (awarded to an organization) – open to submission by any organization, with one overall winner and several category awards.
  • Digital Workplace Leader of the Year 2019 (awarded to an individual) – with a Top 10 list announced at the Digital Workplace of the Year Awards at Digital Workplace Experience in Chicago in June 2019.

Just go to the entry website and start your entry today – it’s free to enter and you can return to your entry as many times as you want until the deadline on April 26, 2019.

And remember, you’re almost certainly better than you think. We see it time and again: digital workplace teams are so focused on fixing problems and making small improvements that they sometimes forget the great work they’ve already done. (There’s also this little thing called “negativity bias”, which is just how our brains work. But don’t get me started on psychology!).

The winners of the Digital Workplace of the Year Awards 2019 will be announced at a ceremony on Monday evening at the Digital Workplace Experience in June.
