Digital workplace product management
In our latest ‘Digital workplace product management’ report we take a deep dive into managing products in the digital workplace and build on findings from an earlier 2020 report.
Product management has become an extremely important concept within the digital workplace. The topic is too wide a topic to cover everything in detail, but we aim to provide an overview of what teams need to think about in moving to more of a product management approach, or in considering their existing operations.
First, we explore what product management encompasses. We then look at the different roles, structures and skills involved in product management, as well as the associated challenges.
We then look at some of the important practices digital workplace product managers undertake, starting with how to manage relationships, and moving on to different product management tactics and approaches throughout the product lifecycle.
Finally, we end with three in-depth and extremely varied case studies about digital workplace product management in leading organizations – Nestlé, BCD Travel and a UK insurance company.

About DWG research
The Digital Workplace Group (DWG) carries out research into best practice in intranet and portal deployment. Covering the hottest topics in the intranet world, the studies we undertake are rooted in practical examples from among DWG member organizations as well as leading non-member companies. The results of this in-depth research act as a basis for decision-making, a source of ideas, and the basis for rich interactions between participants at DWG meetings. Generally, members are given exclusive access to our findings, although we do from time to time make a report available to non-members.
