Oscar is a highly experienced digital strategist with over 15 years in the IT and web/Internet industry. Indy is the European Manager of Digital Communications at Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc. (CCE), the leading Western European marketer, producer, and distributor of non-alcoholic drinks and one of the world’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottlers. Indy will provide a tour of CCE’s rich and recently refreshed intranet and related enterprise mobile experience.
STOWE BOYD – Web anthropologist, futurist, edgling
Stowe is a researcher focused on the future of work, and the tectonic forces pushing business, media, and society into an unclear and accelerating postnormal era. He formerly was the lead researcher at GigaOM Research on work technology and the future of work. In his session Stowe will discuss the challenges and opportunities of a mobile-first strategy for digital workplaces and web technology/communications more generally.

Andrea manages the Digital Communications team within Employee Communications. The team is responsible for driving the strategy for and implementation of Adobe’s internal digital communications channels that improve employee communication and collaboration, and increase executive transparency. Lee is the co-founder of Post*Shift, a consultancy that helps build 21st century organizations that use social and digital principles to operate more efficiently and with more agility than existing bureaucratic corporates. He was previously the co-founder and Director for the consultancy Headshift, an early innovator in the use of online social software in public and private sector organizations. Lee will discuss how modern social tools can humanize work and transform organizational structures.

STEVE BYNGHALL – Digital Workplace Benchmarker, Researcher and Knowledge Lead
Steve has produced several best practice reports around intranets and the digital workplace for DWG, is a regular blogger and provides knowledge management services to DWG members. He is also one of DWG’s benchmarking team, specializing in the areas of collaboration, strategy and governance. Prior to joining DWG, Steve launched and managed the global client extranet programme at BDO, the fifth largest accounting network in the world. He has recently co-written a book on crowdsourcing with Ross Dawson.

Luke is a Customer Experience Manager for Frontline Help and has worked at Barclays for 6 years. Leader for the team helping the UK become Digitally Savvy – The Digital Eagles. Supporting Barclays Africa and ABSA Digital Eagles, helping colleagues to engage, ideate and collaborate globally. Luke will give a live tour of Barclays’ mobile apps for frontline employees.
SHARIF EZZAT – Senior Manager, Digital Communications
Sharif manages design and user experience at Genentech, which includes gWiz, Genentech’s intranet. Genentech allows anonymous comments on gWiz, which has led to honest, yet respectful conversations that likely would not have happened without the cover of anonymity. The gWiz mobile app offers café menus and common daily tasks and Genentech provides staff with a variety of other homegrown apps for highly specific purposes. See it all during Sharif’s presentation.

Caroline was one of the founding members of the digital team at Allen & Overy, one of the largest law firms in the world. She has since founded Living Lawyers and is a driver for ways of working that make life better for lawyers, enhance the client experience and maximise productivity. Caroline helps lawyers understand and embrace the opportunities presented by the technologies and structures that are challenging and changing the traditional models of practicing law, and will discuss digital workplace roadmaps.

Nancy leads DWG’s Member Forum, which provides benchmarking, research and peer networking services to help major organisations accelerate the performance of their digital workplace programmes. Nancy is also responsible for DWG’s global expansion through strategic partnerships and account development. Prior to joining DWG, Nancy was an accomplished executive at JPMorgan Chase. She spent over 18 years in the Corporate Office, where she built and led global high-performance teams in designing an award-winning intranet. Dave is co-founder and partner of Boardthing, a simple and elegent web tool that is “as easy as cards on a board.” He founded the global consultancy XPLANE and is CEO and Founder of Liminl, a consultancy that helps organizations work through complex problems with visual thinking. He has written several popular books, including most recently Gamestorming: A Playbook for Innovators, Rulebreakers and Changemakers and previously The Connected Company. Dave will discuss how digital workplace managers can understand and approach organizational culture change.
JOHN HAGEL – Co-Chairman, Center for the Edge
John leads the Silicon Valley based research center for Deloitte. Its charter is to identify emerging business opportunities that should be on the CEO’s agenda but are not, and to do the research to persuade them to put it on the agenda. He is co-author of the book The Power of Pull: How Small Moves, Smartly Made, Can Set Big Things in Motion and a prolific speaker. John will discuss the intersection of business strategy and information technology, and the major new trends businesses need to adapt to.
MARIO HERGER – CEO and Founder, Enterprise Gamification Consultancy
Mario is a top expert in enterprise gamification, on which he has written seven books so far; he also led gamification efforts at SAP. He is the CEO and Founder of Enterprise Gamification Consultancy (EGC). Mario will discuss how gamification can make us more productive at work, offering insights into designing effective games, and what motivates and benefits the user (rather than what benefits the company).
STEFAN HIERL – Digital Manager
Six Sigma Black Belt, Stefan Hierl, has been Digital Manager at Adidas since 2010. Under his watch, Adidas accomplished the seemingly impossible when it transitioned from 50 intranets to one in just 7 months. The new intranet is strikingly simple, with no typical hierarchical navigation, featuring instead a UX that people are accustomed to on their personal technology. LOUISE KENNEDY – User Experience Consultant
Louise conducts usability evaluations of digital workplaces and corporate internet sites, and is a lead user experience consultant. She has rich experience in all aspects of digital workplace project implementation and has written DWG briefing papers on findability topics. Her past clients include the BBC, Syngenta, PUMA and 3M. Louise will discuss the theory and techniques of digital workplace user experience design (UXD).
DEB LAFFERTY – Director of Web Operations, Nursing
Deb manages a team of web production specialists and works with the CNIO (Chief Nursing Information Officer) to plan strategic direction for accessing web-based clinical, educational and support information. The Mayo Clinic won a 2014 Best Intranet award in Nielsen Norman Group’s annual global competition. It won in large part due to the persona-driven user experience strategy behind the design. Deb will discuss designing digital workplace tools for frontline medical workers.
JULIE LAKHA – Managing Director, Consulting Services
Julie leads and manages all aspects of DWG’s consultancy offering, from the development and shaping of services through to client delivery. She specializes in the areas of strategy, governance, global programme management and user experience. Previously she was Global Head of Digital Workplace & Experience for HSBC, where she defined and led the digital workplace agenda across the Group. Julie will discuss setting up a digital workplace programme.
RALF LARSSON – Director, Online Employee Engagement and Development
Ralf Larsson has a wide-ranging remit at Electrolux taking responsibility for online engagement, social media, collaboration tools, intranet strategy and delivery, as well as internal communications. He will discuss Electrolux’s journey from intranet to the digital workspace and in his live tour will show highlights such as branded corporate news and the way this is integrated with social and comment functionality, a feature that has attracted a great deal of interest.
ANDREA LEWIS – User Experience Consultant
Andrea is a User Experience Consultant for the Digital Workplace Group (DWG). She has a Masters Degree in CyberPsychology and her academic work focused on gender and gaming. She has a rich background in user experience design, with a special interest in user research and how people incorporate social media and mobile devices into their lives. Andrea will discuss the usability of enterprise mobile sites and apps, and the psychology behind modern mobile devices.
ASHLEY LUCIO – Director, Online Content and Platforms
Ashley Lucio is Editor-in-Chief of America Express’s intranet “The Square”. After a cosmetic relaunch in 2014, The Square is currently undergoing a switch to SharePoint 2013 and also the introduction of mobile. With more than 60,000 employees and contractors accessing the intranet daily, The Square focuses heavily on content, including a newsroom with dynamic content. The site steers clear of “corporate” language, favouring instead multimedia content, produced and directed by Ashley, who has a background across multiple creative industries.
RUBEN LUQUE – Director, Employee Experience and Workplace Solutions
Ruben is responsible for analyzing feedback to capture the voice of the employee across Verizon, to drive the employee experience delivered via Verizon’s HR employee portal: About You. He works with global real estate and IT to drive a culture shift to enable a global mobile workforce by aligning policies, providing training and leveraging the company’s key technologies. Ruben led the effort to deliver Verizon’s award-winning mobile HR employee portal and on DW24 will show a live tour of that mobile experience.
ANDREW MARR – Digital Workplace Benchmarking Evaluator
Andrew is a DWG Benchmarking Evaluator specializing in intranet management areas such as strategy, governance, communication and collaboration. He has also authored DWG research papers on a variety of topics, including enterprise adoption of social tools and managing risk in the digital workplace. Before joining DWG he led intranet strategy and development at the UK-based healthcare provider, Bupa.
ELIZABETH MARSH – Director of Research
Elizabeth manages and develops the DWG research programme, which, in more than a decade, has produced a library of 60+ in-depth, case study-based research reports. She recently co-authored The Digital Renaissance of Work: Delivering digital workplaces fit for the future with DWG’s CEO, Paul Miller. Prior to joining DWG Elizabeth held intranet management roles at T-Mobile and Reuters. She will discuss intranet and digital workplace roadmaps.
SUSAN MCCABE – Global Enterprise Collaboration Director
Susan is a Global Enterprise Collaboration Director in the Unified Social Business practice at Unisys and is a senior thought leader in successfully architecting and implementing socially enabled Knowledge and Collaboration solutions. She holds a patent for a method of enabling knowledge communities that is being used at Unisys today and serves on the company’s Knowledge and Collaboration Advisory Council. Susan will provide a live tour of Unisys’ intranet and social knowledge sharing environment.
ETHAN MCCARTY – Global Head of Employee Communications
Ethan is responsible for growing and managing a team of Employee Communications professionals who activate, inform and enable Bloomberg’s 15,000+ employees through engaging messages and interactive experiences. He has held a variety of senior roles at IBM around digital and social media, marketing and consulting. Ethan will discuss the future of work and innovations that are changing the nature of work.

PHIL MENNIE – Social Media Risk & Governance Lead
Phil is the Social Media Risk and Governance Lead at PwC. He helps PwC clients plan for and manage social media marketing and internal employee-facing social media through good governance and risk management. He also supports PwC’s own internal collaboration platform and is author of the forthcoming book Social Media Risk and Governance: Managing Enterprise Risk, which will be published worldwide by Kogan Page in November 2015. Phil will discuss effective social media governance, as well as the major shift in expectations that millennials and Generation Y are bringing to the workplace.

Peter is a Managing Director with Jones Lang LaSalle ($4.7 billion global real estate advisory and investment firm), where he develops global business strategies and client solutions enabled by emerging technologies and workplace innovation. He is recognized as a global thought leader by Accenture, The Brookings Institute, CERES, The Conference Board, CORENET Global, The Rockefeller Foundation, The Urban Age Institute, The Urban Land Institute and The Woodrow Wilson Center.
GREG NEMETH – Social Enterprise Leader
Greg leads the Social Enterprise function at EY, the purpose of which is to apply social innovations to generate business value and competitive advantages in the marketplace. Greg is also responsible for release planning and execution of enterprise intranet and knowledge sharing applications such as the homepage, navigation, search, community-based portals, etc. within EY.
KERRY O’DONNELL – Executive Director, Global Digital Communications
Kerry leads the global strategy and execution for the corporate online platforms, focused on internal and external digital corporate communication needs, for The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc. She has extensive experience in both communications and enterprise IT, spanning intranets, public marketing platforms and application development.
PERNILLE ALBERG PEDERSON – Founder, entrepreneur
Pernille is the co-founder of Coworkation: Collaboration, Work, Education and Vacation for entrepreneurs. Coworkation provides structured retreats to common vacation destinations, but with a focus on providing an environment for creative and collaborative work. Pernille is a digital nomad and former business consultant. She will discuss how Generation Y and Millennials are pushing the boundaries of our expectations of work.
GIANNA PFISTER-LAPIN – Senior User Interface Designer
Gianna Pfister-LaPin helps lead a User Experience team in the Intranet Shared Service Department at the Mayo Clinic. The Mayo Clinic recently won a Nielsen Norman Group intranet award and an Intranet Innovation Award. Gianna will go over the Mayo Clinic’s sophisticated approach to user persona-based design and provide a live tour of the Mayo Clinic’s award-winning intranet interfaces.
GIOVANNI PIAZZA – Global Head, Information and Knowledge Management
Giovanni is the first Global Head of Information and Knowledge Management for Johnson & Johnson Discovery Sciences. He is responsible for defining strategies and implementation plans and for continuously improving all scientific and operational information flows. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson he spent a decade as Global Director of the intranet and portal at EY. He will discuss designing digital workplace solutions for scientists in the healthcare industry.
ADAM POPE – Senior Librarian and Community Manager
Adam Pope believes in “digital workplaces that are collaborative and build on collective knowledge; where digital libraries contain quality content that is easy to find and edit; and where rich skills can be effectively transferred”. He has managed the digital intranet environment for 80 communities of practice at Arup, an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists since 2007, and this has twice been awarded a Gold Intranet Innovation Award. In 2014 Arup was also declared a winner as a “Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise”.
TERRY PULLIAM – Director, Communications
Communications expert Terry Pulliam specializes in employee engagement and is energized by the quest to enable Sprint employees to be powerful advocates for the company. Terry will show the highly successful Sprint intranet, a recent Nielsen Norman Award winner. In the 2015 NN/g awards the Sprint site was praised for its use of megamenus, its faceted search, and its good use of video, including short videos posted by staff. GARY SWART – Venture Partner, tech executive
Gary is a venture partner, deeply passionate about helping entrepreneurs build their businesses. Prior to joining Polaris Partners he was the CEO of oDesk, the world’s largest online work platform for connecting businesses and independent professionals. Gary has worked on many entrepreneurial ventures and as a tech executive, including a senior leadership role at IBM. He will discuss how technology is disrupting our standard concepts of work and employment.
CALVIN SYMES – Solutions Specialist, Productivity
Calvin recently moved to Microsoft where he helps large organizations strategically implement an array of productivity applications, including Office 365. Prior to joining Microsoft he was the IT manager of the DevOps team in support of WestJet’s People applications. This included the corporate Intranet and the development of custom mobile apps. Calvin will discuss enterprise mobile strategy.
DAN THOMAS – Digital Communications
Dan specializes in user experience, structural design, content optimization, internal communication, data analysis and technical solutions. His current role is as a Community Manager, developing a new social collaboration platform to increase connectivity, break down silos, share expertise, streamline processes and most importantly, make cost savings to deliver real business outcomes. That all translates to making Lloyds’ colleagues lives easier, more engaging and more productive.
LINDA TINNERT – Process Owner/Responsible for Internal Digital Channels
Linda is the Intranet Manager for IKEA and plays a central role as a leader of the company’s digital workplace strategy. Linda has worked on intranets for over 15 years, originally coming to the work from an internal communications perspective. IKEA’s intranet delivers multilingual content and an innovative HR portal, and sits as the centrepiece of a sophisticated digital workplace strategy.
CHRIS TUBB – Digital Workplace Strategy Consultant
Chris is an intranet and digital workplace consultant and lead benchmarker for DWG in the Management Benchmarking Areas. He is also an analyst, blogger and research author. Chris also led the development of DWG’s Digital Workplace Maturity Benchmark. During his session Chris will focus on effective metrics and measurement within the digital workplace.
