On hour three of DW24 we saw a live tour by Neil Barnett of the Royal Mail’s intranet, which is accessible publicly on the World Wide Web via myroyalmail.com.There are no passwords and all content is ok for public consumption. 90% of the traffic is from employees. The site can be viewed by different devices including mobile phones and tablets and has a fully responsive design.  Around 8000 mobile devices are current using it.  Employees cannot comment on stories currently but Royal Mail is working on allowing this.

Royal Mail has 150k staff throughout the UK and Europe.  They have initiated a huge modernization program and cultural shift and are going for an IPO.  They are becoming a parcels business, driven by online retail growth.

During the third hour of DW24 we also heard from Andrew Brackin, creator of Bunchy.com, a social funding platform. And we heard from Steve Faktor about the digital divide in the workplace.
