Dan Ranta is the Director of Knowledge Sharing at ConocoPhillips, where he is accountable for the strategic implementation of knowledge sharing for the 31,000-person integrated oil and gas company (a top-20 global company in total revenue terms).

In 2004, Mr. Ranta led a small team charged with developing and implementing a knowledge-sharing strategy for the Exploration and Production part of the business. He joined ConocoPhillips as Director of Knowledge Sharing in January 2006, making a complete transition to lead the effort he began as a consulting practice leader.

Today, Knowledge Sharing spans the entire enterprise and has grown to include more than 130 Networks of Excellence (NoEs) enabled with the world-class processes and infrastructure needed to support them. Networks connect technical professionals with their peers around the world, enabling them to solve common work issues and deliver significant improvements to the enterprise. The focus is on business transformation that leads to additional business value. From 2004 to the present, knowledge sharing has documented hundreds of millions of dollars in estimated cash flow (additional business value) for ConocoPhillips. In 2009, the KS team implemented OneWiki — an enterprisewide version of Wikipedia. From its inception, OneWiki has been a “game-changer” for employees of all generations to provide contextually based know-how.
Before joining ConocoPhillips, Mr. Ranta served as Practice Leader of Schlumberger Business Consulting, specializing in fields related to knowledge management (KM), content management, and portals. Previously, he led the KM consulting community for IBM Consulting Services, where he conducted multifaceted knowledge-management-related work, including KM strategy, social network analysis, communities of practice, and design and implementation of portal structures. Earlier, he worked as Global Program Manager for Ernst & Young’s Center for Business Knowledge.

Mr. Ranta holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and Spanish from Grove City College (Pennsylvania) and a master’s in management from Kent State University (Ohio). He also completed a year of post-graduate work with New York State University in Paris. Connect with Dan on LinkedIn.

Ashela Webb is co-founder of CMBOK. Her thought leadership in business process management has seen her involved in a variety of business models and roles, from strategist to data architect and spanning a wide range of verticals such as IT, Oil and Gas and healthcare.

Ashela’s work for the Canadian Government and the Canadian Department of Defense in collaborative working models has been published and she was selected by the Whistler Olympic 2010 bid to assist as a futurist on predicting business models 10+ years out.

Her latest work is focused on developing Web 2.0 working models and business process improvements that can be realized through proper governance and execution of social systems.  She is currently  working to publish online training and materials to help those navigating the web 2.0 environment in the enterprise. Bill Ives is Partner, Merced group. Bill grew up in New Orleans and then spent most of his adult life in the Boston area with short stints in Toronto, London and New York.  Bill has sold and led both large and small-scale consulting engagements in a variety of industries and locations within the US and across Europe.  He currently provides enterprise collaboration and social media consulting.  Bill is a frequent speaker at conferences and webinars, and creates white papers and guest blog posts covering enterprise 2.0 and related topics.

He draws on over 25 years of experience as a consultant in business uses of emerging technologies, including knowledge management and learning, and over five years’ experience in business uses int he new social media, both inside the enterprise and on the Web.

He led the Accenture Knowledge Management and Enterprise Portals Client Practice within the Human Performance Service Line, developing many large-scale projects including industry award-winning implementations for innovation and effective knowledge sharing.  At the Renaissance Strategy Group and Spectrum Interactive, he developed knowledge management, performance support and multi-media learning systems.  At both Accenture and Renaissance he developed methodologies for firm-wide use in knowledge management engagements.

Bill holds a Ph.D in Educational Psychology from the University of Toronto, and Ed.M in Human Development from Harvard University and a B.A. in Sociology from Tufts University.  He conducted post-doctoral studies at Harvard looking at the effects of media on cognition.  Widely published, Bill has also been blogging at Portals and KM since May 2004, and his blog is syndicated through a variety of sources – Social Enterprise Today, Lexus Nexus and Social Media Today.  He also does social software reviews at the AppGap blog.   Bill is found on a number of industry lists of top influencers in enterprise collaboration. When he is not working, Bill tries to find time for his painting.  He can also be found on Twitter  and LinkedIn.
