Thanks for visiting the Digital Workplace Group (DWG) website. You'll see this post may refer to the "Intranet Benchmarking Forum (IBF)," the "Digital Workplace Forum (DWF)" or "IBF Live." But that doesn't match our website name!
In a nutshell, we merged IBF and DWF into one service and changed our name to "Digital Workplace Group." The new name represents the broader set of services we've grown to offer, beyond an original focus on just intranets. We also changed the name of our monthly webinar from "IBF Live" to "Digital Workplace Live."
Although we've relabelled things, we're proud of our decade+ history and have left this page intact. Enjoy your time on our site and please contact us with any questions or comments.
12.25 GMT. One of the main features of IBF 24 – and of DWG membership in general – is the chance to see other organisations’ intranets in action.
To start the ball rolling, Phil Edwards and Imogen Levy of the BBC provided a ‘live tour’ of Gateway, the Corporation’s highly-regarded global site.
With 16 million page requests per month, Gateway is a crucial resource for the Beeb’s 25,000 employees, providing tools ranging from wikis and discussion forums to an archive of BBC broadcasts.
Delegates were given a strategic overview of the intranet operation and shown how the site could be used to research a journalistic piece on the Euro 2008 football tournament (including checking the pronunciation of a Spanish defender’s surname).
A lively question and answer session followed, which will no doubt set the pattern for the day’s other intranet demos (from Nokia, IBM, SAP, IKEA, American Electric Power, Microsoft, AMP, Nissan and BT, no less).
