Taking the user experience design (UXD) perspective
Designing for a flexible workforce
The digital ecosystem of applications and systems provided to employees tends to provide a poor user experience.
As most digital workplaces have been built-up piecemeal for a desk-bound user population, they rarely take into account the needs of an increasingly flexible and mobile workforce.
The report suggests that organizations can tackle issues such as loss of productivity and reduced adoption of critical services by looking at the digital workplace through the lens of the user experience. The ways of assessing requirements and taking measures to fulfill them are also examined.

About DWG research
The Digital Workplace Group (DWG) carries out research into best practice in intranet and portal deployment. Covering the hottest topics in the intranet world, the studies we undertake are rooted in practical examples from among DWG member organisations as well as leading non-member companies. The results of this in-depth research act as a basis for decision-making, a source of ideas, and the basis for rich interactions between participants at DWG meetings. Generally, members are given exclusive access to our findings, although we do from time to time make a report available to non-members for a fee.
