The judges of My Beautiful Intranet 2014 also identified capability such as personalization, integration of social features, and a good balance of news and task-based features as examples of good intranet design.

Verizon’s intranet was previously showcased on Digital Workplace Live in June 2014, and Verizon were also winners of the inaugural mobile track of My Beautiful Intranet 2014. DWG’s judges also consistently highlighted responsive design and integration of HR information as stand-out features of this intranet.

As members of DWG’s Member Forum, both Adobe and Verizon are part of a community of over 50 large organizations that includes other household names such as Coca-Cola, EY and IKEA. Members regularly share their insights and challenges through facilitated peer-learning, contribute to and draw upon DWG’s research programme, and have their intranets benchmarked against an objective set of criteria as well as against each other.

Being part of this community gives Members’ intranet and digital workplace teams access to an incredible depth of support from their peers as well as DWG’s practitioner experts. Challenges faced can be worked through together, while benchmarking helps to inform and track improvement roadmaps.

Paul Miller, CEO and Founder of the Digital Workplace Group, offered his congratulations to the two companies and said: “We are very proud that two DWG Members won NN/g awards this year. While DWG can’t take credit for Adobe and Verizon’s intranets, I take heart in the fact that two such outstanding digital workplace teams find our Member Forum valuable and have integrated our services into their work.”
