IBF 24: Steve Krug, Usability guru joins list of IBF 24 speakers

March 16, 2010

“If you really want to know if your Web site works, ask your next door neighbor to try using it, while you watch. (You bring the beer.)”

That’s a tip from Usability guru Steve Krug, best known as the author of Don’t Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability.

IBF is very excited to announce that Steve will be taking part in IBF 24, 24 hours of the world’s best intranets and workplace technology developments live on 2-3 June 2010.

Steve Krug has spent 20+ years as a usability consultant for a wide variety of clients including Apple, Bloomberg.com, Lexus.com, NPR and the International Monetary Fund. He has recently published his second book, a guide to do-it-yourself usability testing, Rocket Surgery Made Easy.

Steve Krug is my hero. By making usability testing so effortless, he teaches us how to eliminate the frustration from our own products, without the wizards with the lab coats and the clipboards. Get this book. —Joel Spolsky on Rocket Surgery Made Easy

IBF 24 is a landmark event for the intranet and workplace technology community on 2-3 June 2010. More than 1000 of the world’s intranet industry practitioners will come together online in what will be the largest, most innovative and practical gathering to ever take place in the global workplace technology field.

Steve Krug will be joining other industry thought leaders on IBF 24 including such as David Sacks, Founder and CEO of Yammer, and Jeff Jarvis, author of the bestseller, What would Google do? in discussing the latest developments in workplace technology.

IBF 24 will also feature live intranets tours from organisations including Citi, Ernst & Young, Aviva and Thomson Reuters as well as features such as “Build an intranet in 24 hours!”.
